CrossCurrents Fly Shop would like to announce the recent addition to our crew – Ben Cooley. Just like the “Golden Bear” CrossCurrents Fly Shop is ‘Ready for Service’, and so is Ben. We may not be the Navy crew of over 600 mates aboard the USS Sacramento that for over a year Ben called home, but we are his new family now.
In 2001, after spending some time at Sweetwater Guide School and fly fishing “Big Sky” rivers with his dad, Ben moved to Montana and worked as a guide in the Big Blackfoot Valley. Then the unthinkable happened– “9/11”. Being an honorable American, Ben felt compelled to serve in our United States Navy after that horrific event. For over 10 years, Ben has dreamed of returning to Montana. But, Ben’s love for bird hunting took him to North Dakota first. Eventually being haunted by waters became too great for him to ignore. Ben has left his North Dakota ways in search of outdoor adventure in Montana. Finally!
Come meet Ben at our Downtown Helena shop this Winter or out on the Missouri River in Craig this season. CrossCurrents Fly Shop is still looking for a few more good crew members to help us with the 2015 season in Craig. If you are interested in working and playing in the ‘Trout Capital of the World”, please stop by our Helena shop to catch an application. You can also find more information by reading about our employment opportunities in Craig.
Happy Fishing in 2015!
